Welcome to the online home of the Utah Jigsaw Puzzle Association. The association brings together people who love jigsaw puzzles, from quiet single solvers to rowdy team tournaments. These terms of service describe the rights and duties that apply when anyone uses the club website, the member portal, the swap meet platforms, the lending library tracker, or any event tool tied to the association.
The developer name attached to these systems is JigsawUtah. References in these terms to the association, to we, or to our all mean the Utah Jigsaw Puzzle Association with its office at 5338 W Lightening Peak Cir, Riverton - 84096-6430, United States (US). The phrase you or your means the person using the service, whether as a guest, a registered member, a volunteer, or an event organiser.
Reading these terms is part of joining. They are written in direct language so that every puzzler knows what is expected. If any rule is unclear, ask us before you sign up rather than guessing.
Who provides the service
The Utah Jigsaw Puzzle Association provides the club website, the event hosting tools, the lending library system, the tournament platform, and the volunteer scheduling boards described across the site. The software was designed and is kept running by the developer effort known as JigsawUtah under the direction of the association.

Local chapter leads, table captains, and seasonal coordinators act on behalf of the association when they run a club night or event. These terms apply to every such gathering, online or in person.
Acceptance of the terms
You accept these terms when you first use the website, and again when you confirm a membership application, check out a library puzzle, reserve a swap slot, or submit content through any tool.
If you do not agree with one part of these terms, you may still browse the public pages, which carry no binding obligation beyond fair usage. You should not register an account or enter an event until you accept the rules that govern those activities.
Using the service after a change to these terms counts as acceptance of the revised version from that moment forward. We describe how changes are announced in a later section so that no surprise takes hold.
Membership and accounts
To join a swap meet, borrow from the lending library, enter a tournament, or schedule volunteer shifts, you need a member account. You apply through the member portal and confirm your details before your account becomes active.
- You must give truthful details when you register, and you must keep them current.
- You must not create several accounts to dodge a waiting list or a piece cap.
- You must keep your password private and tell us at once if you believe it leaked to someone else.
- Each membership belongs to a named person and cannot be lent or transferred to another puzzler for the season.
- A household may hold several accounts, one for each active member.
Membership runs by a season and renews on the date we state at sign up. We tell you well before a renewal so you can decide freely. A lapsed membership puts your pending library holds on hold until you renew, and a returned puzzle queued under your name will be released after a grace period.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the club systems only for the purposes the association intends, which are the sharing of puzzles, the scheduling of events, the running of tournaments, and friendly community conversation.
The following actions are never allowed on the platform.
- Selling, scraping, or exporting member lists for any commercial reason without written permission.
- Reverse engineering, probing, or otherwise attacking the website to find faults.
- Posting abusive, hateful, or defamatory messages about any member or volunteer.
- Impersonating a coordinator or another member.
- Uploading a file that may harm the platform or break another device.
- Using the lending library to run a side rental or resale business.
If we judge that your use harms the community or the platform, we may limit, suspend, or close your account as described in the termination section. We aim to warn first and to be fair in every action.
Swap meet rules
A swap meet is the heart of the association. Members carry puzzle boxes to a venue, log them into the swap platform, and leave with an equal number of pieces so the tally stays even for everyone.
- Bring only complete puzzles with all pieces present, unless a box is clearly marked as partial at check in.
- Log your boxes honestly in the swap platform before you place them on the table.
- Take only the number of boxes you brought, one for one, unless the head table allows a surplus.
- Mark any missing piece on the condition note so the next holder is never surprised.
- Finish a trade, which means confirm the exchange in the app, before you carry a box home.
The phrase piece counts even is the motto of every swap. A coordinator watches the counts and may ask a member to balance a swap that drifts uneven. Puzzles that arrive damaged beyond reason may be refused at the door by the table captain.
Lending library rules
The association keeps a lending library that members can borrow from between swap meets. The library tracker records every checkout and return so titles circulate cleanly.
- Check a title out through the portal and collect it from the library shelf at a scheduled handover.
- Keep a borrow for the agreed loan window, usually three weeks.
- Return the box with every piece inside and with the lid nesting correctly.
- Report a missing piece at once rather than hiding it for the next member to find.
- Do not lend a library title to a non member without asking the library counter to transfer the loan.
If a title comes back with a piece lost, we first search the club cushion pile known as the orphan tray and ask recent borrowers to double check. If a piece cannot be found after a search, the borrower works with the counter to replace or repair the title before the next loan is recorded.
Tournament and rankings
Tournaments run on the bracket platform each season, from small club nights to the grand finale with many tables. Rankings grow from verified results only and are published openly by the association.
- Register through the portal before the closing time for that bracket.
- Arrive at your plotted start so the bracket keeps moving; a missed slot may be counted as a loss.
- Settle disputes at the table with a coordinator before the result is saved.
- Report a wrong result to the tournament lead within one day so the board can be fixed.
- Accept that the tabulator calculates totals by machine, and that any appeal goes to a person.
Final results feed seasonal rankings. A result that wins a prize but fails a fairness check may be revised and republished with an honest note.
Volunteering terms
The association runs on donated hours. The volunteer board lets members claim shifts for check in, table guidance, timer keeping, and the welcome desk.
- Claim only shifts you can honestly attend.
- Swap a claimed shift freely using the board, but tell the shift captain so the roster is current.
- Arrive a short while before the shift opens so the handover is not rushed.
- Perform the role described on the shift card and ask a captain if anything is unclear.
- Log the hours you served so the season work record stays fair.
Repeated no shows without notice may reduce a member priority for desirable event slots. Volunteer hours earn perks on some seasons, described at sign up and never changed mid season without notice.
User contributed content
Members may post a short bio, a puzzle condition note, a swap comment, and an optional event photo. You keep the copyright in your own words and pictures.
By posting to the club platform you give the association a limited, non exclusive licence to show that content within the community for as long as your account stays active. The licence ends when the content is removed and you delete the item.
You are responsible for the content you post and for making sure it does not break a law or invade another person privacy. We may remove content that breaks the conduct rules, and we will tell you when we do.
Fees and payments
Membership may carry a modest seasonal fee to cover puzzle purchases, venue hire, and refreshments. The fee for the current season is printed on the membership page before you pay.
- Fees are due at the start of the season and are non refundable once the season begins unless a legal right applies.
- We do not store your card number on this site; a trusted payment partner processes the charge.
- Never send a card number by email to direct@jigsawutah.hair.
- Volunteer hours never replace a fee unless a specific season offer says so.
If a payment fails we pause new bookings until the matter is settled but we keep your membership record safe. Any accidental double charge is refunded in full at once upon notice.
Intellectual property
The site layout, the original copy, the puzzle piece motif, the tray labels, and the club emblem are owned by or licensed to the association and designed in partnership with JigsawUtah.
You may view and share the site for personal, non commercial use. You may not copy the design wholesale, reuse the emblem commercially, or pretend that a page on another domain belongs to the association.
The images of puzzle artwork shown for illustration belong to the artists and publishers who made them; we show small labels for identification only. Nothing on this site grants a right to those titles.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the association is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential harm arising from use of these tools, such as lost time, a ruined evening, or a missed swap slot.
Where liability cannot be lawfully excluded, our total responsibility for any single claim connected to these terms is capped at the membership fee you paid for the current season, or a modest fixed sum if no fee applied, whichever is lower.
Nothing here limits liability for harm that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability arising from negligence that causes bodily injury or from a breach of a duty imposed to protect public safety. We value the safety of every member above all wording.
Disclaimers of warranty
The club systems are supplied on an as is and as available basis. We work hard to keep them reliable, but we do not promise that the service will be fault free, uninterrupted, or fit for a purpose you have not told us about.
We do not warrant the physical condition of every puzzle in the lending library or swap pool, because titles live in member homes between events. A condition note on record is the honest snapshot at the time of logging.
Those limits do not strip the legal warranties that the law refuses to remove. If a consumer protection law in your area grants a non waivable warranty, that warranty survives these terms.
Termination of membership
A member may end their membership at any time by sending a short note to direct@jigsawutah.hair. Ending is effective when we confirm it, and any prepaid season discount is handled per the fee rules.
The association may suspend a member for a set period or close an account where a rule is genuinely broken, serious harm is done, or a legal demand requires it. Before a suspension we normally send a warning that names the rule at issue and offers a chance to respond.
On closure we stop new features for that account, return any library title still checked out through the normal return path, and delete or anonymise personal data per the privacy policy. Content you posted is removed unless another rule requires it to stay briefly.
Changes to the terms
We review these terms when the service changes or when a legal or accounting rule demands an update. Any revision is published here with a fresh version date at the bottom.
We give current members notice of a material change by email with a clear summary and a link to the full text before the change bites for future use. Small wording fixes take effect on publication.
Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms for activity from that point onwards. If you do not accept the change, you may close your membership before it takes effect without penalty.
Service interruption and downtime
From time to time the platform is taken offline for planned maintenance, typically in the quiet weekday morning so it disturbs the fewest members.
We aim to keep maintenance short and to tell you in advance through the meet calendar. If an unplanned fault takes a tool offline, the list and swap tally on the shared clipboard still stand and are reconciled to the app when it returns.
A short outage never creates a fee credit by itself. If an outage badly harms a paid tournament that cannot be replayed, we offer a fair remedy such as a rebooking rather than a blanket refund beyond what the law requires.
Governing law and location
These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Utah and, where applicable, the federal laws of the United States (US), without regard to conflict of law principles that would point elsewhere.

If a dispute cannot be settled by conversation, the courts of the state of Utah have non exclusive jurisdiction to hear it. Nothing in this section removes a consumer right that the law refuses to move.
